Post-menopausal osteoporosis

Reply Quote

My mother is 45years old. Since some days she is suffering from back pain. She has been to the doctor and the latter said that she will go through her menopause phase very soon, that’s the reason for her having back pain. But now the pain has become unbearable. My father has brought her boniva which is generically called ibandronate. It is a medication for bone deficiency. I’ve read on the net that this medication normally treats and prevents post menopausal osteoporosis. But my mother has not even goes through menopausal phase. Can she take that medication?? Will this have bad effect on her health view she has not yet been through her menopause phase??
